This center houses the university book store, administration offices, post office, dining facilities, radio station and faculty club. It is a single-story structure incorporating unusual materials and clever gestures: one entrance leads through the face of Mies van der Rohe. The colors are bold orange, green and bright red throughout. Koolhaas solved the problem of exposed rail tracks by wrapping them in a concrete tube encased in corrugated steel. The bottom of the tube became part of the center's ceiling.
